Residential Estimator - Residential Glazier/Installer to Office

Job Title: Residential Estimator – Residential Glazier/Installer to transition to office position (Construction)

Arrow Glass seeks a highly motivated Residential Estimator with at least two years’ experience as a Residential Glazier or Installer, and a stable work history, to join our Residential team. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious glazing professional that wants to transition from the field to the office. The Residential Estimator will be responsible for fielding customer calls and emails, estimating residential glazing projects and developing business with current and new customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming calls and emails and identify customer needs and requirements
• Assist current customers with orders, quotes, inquiries, and general questions
• Develop and maintain an active knowledge of our products, services, and industry
• Track and document sales activity
• Take initiative to learn and help in any areas necessary
• Fill in and assist when required to schedule installations and service calls

Required Skills and Experience:

• Two years of field experience as a Residential Glazier or Residential Installer
• Outstanding relationship building skills
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Thrive on acting as a problem solver
• Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks in parallel
• Team player, with the ability to keep your cool under pressure & deadlines

Preferred candidates will have the following qualifications:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word)
• Ability to read and understand construction blueprints
• Ability to perform construction take offs
• Experience and ability to field measure
• Experience in cutting glass
• Associates degree or comparable experience in a construction related field
• Experience using intermediate level spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel (formula and budget functions)
• CAD experience/skills Spanish communication ability

• Craft and produce high quality work w/minimal warranty issues.
• Residential installation projects, including shower and steam enclosures (both framed and frameless), fabricate and install mirrors, cabinet glass, glass back splashes, glass shelves, glass tops, glass railing, heavy glass window walls, and re-glazes (single pane and insulated glass).
• Craft and produce high quality work that could be featured in our show case of products and potentially be seen by millions.
• A full understanding of how to measure custom frameless shower enclosures and large tight-fitting out of square mirrors.
• Knowledge of what is and is not possible with frameless shower glass.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of hands on residential glazing experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass a drug screen (not-negotiable).
• Glaziers and Installers must provide their own tools.

Definition of success:

Arrow Glass & Mirror's Project Managers are responsible for:

- Delivering completed projects on our customers schedule
- Project profitability
- Scheduling, shop drawings and submittals
- Relationship management
- Change order management

The ideal person for the position will:

- Have 7-10 years Glazing industry experience as a Project Manager
- Be comfortable using Microsoft Office and have the ability to learn new software with ease
- Grasp the challenges associated with the fast-paced construction and renovation of commercial projects
- Be able to communicate complex and difficult issues
- Enjoy dealing with clients and solving their problems
- Know how to maximize value while minimizing cost
- Experience as a Glazier preferred, but not required
